Aplocheilus ist eine Gattung von Killifischen in der Familie Aplocheilidae . Ihr Verbreitungsgebiet liegt in Süd- und Südostasien , von Pakistan bis Vietnam und Malaysia und von Nepal bis Sri Lanka . Einige Arten, insbesondere der Streifenpanchax, A. lineatus , sind wichtige Aquarienfische.
Etymologie
Der Name Aplocheilus setzt sich aus den griechischen Wörtern aploe für „Einfachheit“ und cheilos für „Lippe“ zusammen.
