DNA-Formamidopyrimidin-Glycosylase ( EC 3.2.2.23 , Fapy-DNA-Glycosylase , Desoxyribonukleat-Glycosidase , 2,6-Diamino-4-hydroxy-5N-formamidopyrimidin-DNA-Glycosylase , 2,6-Diamino-4-hydroxy-5 (N-methyl) ) Formamidopyrimidin-DNA-Glycosylase , Formamidopyrimidin-DNA-Glycosylase , DNA-Formamidopyrimidin-Glycosidase , Fpg-Protein ) ist ein Enzym mit systematischem Namen DNA-Glycohydrolase (2,6-Diamino-4-hydroxy-5- (N-methyl) formamidopyrimid-Freisetzung) . FPG ist ein Reparaturbasis Exzision Enzym , das ein breites Spektrum von oxidiertem erkennt und entfernt Purinen aus entsprechend beschädigten DNA. Es wurde 1975 vom simbabwischen Wissenschaftler Christopher J. Chetsanga entdeckt .
Dieses Enzym katalysiert die folgende chemische Reaktion
- Hydrolyse von DNA mit ringgeöffneten 7-Methylguaninresten unter Freisetzung von 2,6-Diamino-4-hydroxy-5- (N-methyl) formamidopyrimidin
Dieses Enzym ist an Prozessen beteiligt, die zur Erholung von Mutagenese und / oder Zelltod durch Alkylierungsmittel führen .
