Daniel Vaillant (* 19. Juli 1949) ist ein französischer sozialistischer Politiker.
Biografie
In der Nähe von Lionel Jospin hatte Vaillant mehrere Ministerposten in seinen Kabinetten inne: Minister für die Beziehungen zum Parlament von 1997 bis 2000 und Innenminister von 2000 bis 2002. Er unterstützte Jospin auch als Kandidaten für die Sozialistische Partei bei den Präsidentschaftswahlen 2007 ; eine Kandidatur, die schließlich nicht zustande kam.
Ab 2009 ist er Bürgermeister des 18. Arrondissements von Paris (erste Wahl 1995) und Mitglied der Nationalversammlung .
Im Oktober 2009 schlug er vor, den persönlichen Konsum von Cannabis durch Kontrolle der Produktion und des Imports zu entkriminalisieren, wie es bei Alkohol der Fall ist.
