George Coppinger Ashlin (28. Mai 1837 - 10. Dezember 1921) war ein irischer Architekt, der besonders für seine Arbeit an Kirchen und Kathedralen bekannt war und Präsident des Royal Institute of the Architects of Ireland wurde .
Biografie
Ashlin wurde am 28. Mai 1837 in Irland als Sohn von JM Ashlin, JP geboren. Er wurde am St Mary's College in Oscott erzogen ; und war anschließend Schüler von Edward Welby Pugin , dessen Partner er von 1860 bis 1868 in Irland wurde.
Er war der Architekt der Queenstown Cathedral in Cobh , County Cork , und von fünfzig anderen Kirchen in Irland. Er baute auch Portrane Asylum für 300.000 £.
Er war Mitglied der Royal Hibernian Academy und Fellow des Royal Institute of British Architects . 1867 heiratete er Mary Pugin (1844-1933), die Tochter von Augustus Welby Pugin , dem gotischen Erwecker .
